Google’s keyword (kata kunci)
Oom Google tampaknya banyak melakukan pekerjaan dengan Google’s Keyword (kata kunci) ini. Kegunaannya antara lain : membaca dokumen berdasar kata kunci, menyimpan dokumen berdasarkan kata kunci, memberikan hasil pencarian, membandingkan dokumen berdasarkan atas kata kunci, dsb.
Untuk itu ada baiknya mengingatkan kembali bahwa Google memperhatikan beberapa hal atas sebuah website berhubungan dengan kata kunci (Google’s Keyword) :
Kedekatan kata kunci (keyword proximity)
Keyword proximity merupakan ukuran urutan dan kedekatan kata. Makin dekat sebuah susunan kata (ungkapan) secara keseluruhan sesuai urutannya ke kata kunci, adalah makin baik.
Susunan kata-kata yang persis sesuai dengan kata kunci tentu saja adalah yang terbaik. Contohnya, misalnya seseorang mencari dokumen dengan kata kunci “teknik main bola”, maka sebuah halaman web yang menggunakan “teknik main bola” akan mempunyai peringkat yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kata kunci “teknik bermain bola”, atau “teknik main sepakbola”. Google akan memberi skor tersendiri yan lebih rendah meskipun sama-sama ketiga kata tersebut terdapat pada sebuah dokumen.
Penempatan kata kunci (keyword placement)
Penempatan Google’s keyword harus diperhatikan pada tempat-tempat : title, judul artikel, paragraf artikel, link, teks ALT gambar, kotak drop down, nama file, dan nama domain.
Keterdepanan letak (keyword prominence)
Mengukur dimana penempatan kata kunci. Yang lebih baik adalah pada judul paragraf pertama dan 20 kata pertama pada suatu paragraf.
Kepadatan kata kunci (keyword density)
Disebut juga sebagai bobot kata kunci, yaitu banyaknya kata kunci pada sebuah halaman dibagi dengan jumlah kata pada halaman yang bersangkutan. Biasanya angkanya antara 6-20%, lebih dari itu mungkin dapat dianggap spam. Contoh, bila halaman terdiri dari 200 kata, maka bila tertulis kata kunci 10 kali, berarti kepadatannya 10/200 x 100% = 5%
Format kata kunci (keyword format)
Google’s keyword biasanya diberi cetak tebal atau huruf miring.
Pentingnya Google’s keyword pada tag TITLE
Penggunaan Google’s keyword secara benar pada bagian TITLE sangat penting untuk diperhatikan. Dari semua hal yang sudah dibaca di atas, anda mungkin lupa tidak terlalu masalah, tetapi JANGAN LUPAKAN MENULISKAN TITLE SECARA BENAR UNTUK SETIAP HALAMAN WEB ANDA.
Gunakan judul kira-kira 9 kata atau 60 huruf, contoh title halaman :

Perhatikan semua judul memuat Google’s keyword “teknik main bola”.
Perhatikan hal-hal ini untuk menulis Title :
- Setiap halaman harus mempunyai Title yang unik.
- Usahakan untuk setiap title mengandung kata kunci utama
- Pada halaman Home gunakan Kata Kunci Utama dan Kata Kunci Kedua
- Gunakan variasi khusus penggunaan kata kunci pada masing-masing : produk, service, dan isi.
- Bila ada nama perusahaan atau instansi letakkan di belakang.
- Jangan mengulang kata kunci pada title.
