disenangi mesin pencari
Setelah seseorang mengenal dasar membuat web atau blog, tibalah saatnya untuk tidak sekedar memposting artikel pada sebuah halaman. Sasarannya adalah membuat halaman yang disenangi mesin pencari. Mungkin tidak semua mesin pencari, tetapi mesin-mesin pencari utama, yaitu : Google, Yahoo, MSN, dsb. Dengan melakukan optimasi untuk disenangi mesin pencari maka dengan mudah mengundang banyak pengunjung.
Semua mesin pencari menggunakan program perayap (crawler) atau robot untuk mengunjungi website dalam rangka melakukan pengindeksan website kedalam database mereka. Umumnya mereka akan mengikuti sebuah link kepada halaman tertentu, membaca isi halamannya dan menyimpannya ke dalam database, untuk memberikan hasil bila orang memerlukannya. Untuk itulah pengelola website penting untuk membuat sebuah halaman disenangi mesin pencari.
Berikut ini beberapa tips untuk membuat halaman disenangi mesin pencari :
Pertama, sebaiknya anda menghindari menggunakan FRAME pada saat anda membuat sebuah halaman web. Frame akan membuat mesin pencari bingung dan mengabaikan halaman anda. Selain itu user juga akan bingung pada saat mereka berhubungan dengan sebuah halaman tertentu. Dengan frame anda akan mudah membuat layout halaman, tetapi tidak disenangi mesin pencari.
Kedua, jangan membuat informasi penting dalam bentuk movie atau gambar. Movie dan gambar sangat memudahkan bagi orang untuk mengerti pesan anda, tetapi sulit bagi mesin pencari untuk membaca. Saat ini, mesin pencari hanya mengenal teks. Untuk itu penggunaan kata per katalah yang akan digunakan untuk pemeringkatan halaman pada mesin pencari.
Ketiga, gunakan tags meta pada setiap halaman agar robot mesin pencari mengetahui dari awal apakah sebuah halaman perlu diindeks atau tidak. Demikian juga mereka akan lebih mudah dan lebih sering melakukan pengindeksan pada website anda. Meskipun konon tag KEYWORD bukan menjadi satu-satunya informasi bagi mesin pencari, adalah bijak bila anda mengisi tag ini dengan baik dan menghindari spam. Demikian juga perhatikan isi tag DESCRIPTIONS yang digunakan mesin pencari pada saat menampilkan pada daftar pencarian.
Keempat, jangan gunakan tags style HTML berlebihan, sembarangan, atau secara salah. Sebagai gantinya, gunakan CSS (cascading style sheet), dan pertimbangkan untuk menyimpan file CSS secara terpisah, sehingga kode halaman HTML dapat dikenali dengan mudah oleh mesin pencari dan halaman lebih cepat pada saat dimuat.
